Deep Down, Inc. received a $1 million order to manufacture 70 metric tons of buoyancy products for a project in the Gulf of Mexico.
The order will consist of two 26-metric ton buoys, one 12.4-metric ton buoy, and several smaller buoys. Each buoy will be rated for 3,000 meters, making them the largest buoyancy modules constructed for that depth.
Deep Down in Channelview, TX will fabricate the steel hardware and assemble the buoys while Flotation Technologies Inc., in Biddeford, ME will manufacture the buoys, using its high-strength Flotec(TM) syntactic foams.
